Bethesda Softworks wurde im Jahr 1986 gegründet und ist der Entwickler und Publisher der The Elder Scrolls-Reihe.
Geschichte[]
Nach der Gründung durch Christopher Weaver wurde Bethesda relativ schnell durch die Elder Scrolls-Spiele bekannt. Nach finanziellen Schwierigkeiten Ende der 90er Jahre gründete Weaver zusammen mit Robert A. Altman die Firma ZeniMax Media, um sich auch in Medienbereichen abeseits des Spielmarktes bewegen zu können. Nach vier großen Elder Scrolls Spielen sowie diversen Ablegern kam Bethesda im Jahre 2004 auch an die Fallout-Lizenz, die davor bei Interplay lag. Seither stellt ZeniMax Media den Publisher aller Bethesda Titel dar.
