Marcurio or Onmund?

I can't decide if I want to have my Breton mage marry Marcurio or Onmund.

I feel that I should go with Onmund because he was one of the first male characters my Breton met. He also is one of her colleagues and she helped him out numerous times. They also spend quite a bit of time practicing their spells together.

I also feel that she should marry Marcurio because he's a powerful mage, he's gone from place to place with her, and because he's always been there when she was at her weakest. He even said something, in Labyrinthian, along the lines of: "If this ruin frightens you, you can have comfort in the knowledge that I am here with you."

I need so much help with this xD I can't decide because I like them both!!!

I base it upon what my character looks like sometimes :P Other times, it all depends upon the personality I have for my character..? Is she sweet and kind, sassy and bossy, or just downright rude?

Here's my comparison:

Onmund: Sweet and kind to the Dragonborn first thing, is always there to help them when he's a follower, pretty powerful (In my opinion :P Even though he is just an apprentice). He also isn't like the other two (Brelyna Maryon and J'zargo), where his quest doesn't require you getting your butt burned or turned into a dog :P The amulet he wants has sentimental value, even though his family got on his nerves, he still loves them.

Marcurio: Sassy monkey-trucker, super powerful (essential btw, not sure about Onmund), he draws closer to the Dragonborn as you travel with him (from what you said about Labyrinthian), but honestly, he's sometimes downright rude. :/

Also, if you have Hearthfire, and plan on adopting children, think about what their interactions might be with them o.o I imagine Onmund to love them dearly, and Marcurio too, but him to be a little less interactive with them.

They're both really sweet, but I think Onmund is a better choice. He also looks better xD Marcurio looks like he has a stick up his butt, but I guess that's just the way he was meant to look :P

I like both of them but I'd go for Marcurio. I prefer his sassy behavior, also contrary to Cindaia Onmund is the one that I don't like that much physically (mostly his haircut). By the way Onmund is not essential, same for Marcurio.

Also in favour of Marcurio : his level cap is higher (40 while Onmund's is 30). I don't know about you but I hate to see my characters dying. If you can, get the Black Book from the DLC Dragonborn to keep your followers safe from your own spells, shouts, etc.

If you have Heartfire, both can become steward so if you marry one you can have the other at home too.

Maybe check their personnal if you want to find more lines or compare stats.

No no, if your character is a mage, don't marry another mage. Marry a tank. Someone who does damage up close while your mage roasts from afar. I feel like different fighting styles complement each other better. My favorite tanks are Vorstag, Farkas, and Vilkas. However, the twns (Farkas and Vilkas) will turn on you if you committee any crime, so if you're going to join, say, the Dark Brotherhood, or the Thieves Guild, definitely go for Vorstag. Not only does he have a sweet disposition, he is powerful. I think his level cap is 50? Give him a good shield, the best heavy armor you can find, and the Mace of Molag Bal, and he WILL be indestructible 👍🏼
