<p>I've heard guards in Skyrim ask me to brew them an ale many times, so I finally decided to look into it. The in game effects of ale are restore stamina and damage stamina regen, and after browsing through ingredients, I found that any combination of histcarp, silverside perch, or large antlers will brew an "ale" that has the same effects. You don't need all three, just two will work just fine. So yes, you can brew them an ale. Unfortunately there is no way without mods to give it to them.

<p>There's a mod called "Brewmaster" @ the Nexus. Never tried it myself, though.
