I want a opinion before doing this choice and the assassin guild is definitely Evil.

Here is my question. Could a pure heavy armor twohanded build finish the dark brotherhood and thieves guild quest lines without magic or sneak or slaughtering every Npc? if it can be done how would you do it?
I’m doing the thieves guild questline, and am currently stuck on Hard Answers, because Enthir, the guy it told me to speak with, is only saying
“This is going to be terrible for business...”
Over and over again. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how do you fix it?
Or is it even a bug?
Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could help me with a glitch I've been experiencing.
Vex and Delvin absolutely will not give me any quests for Solitude. Please read my entire description before suggesting fixes. Don't mean to sound rude, just tired of people telling me it's bad RNGeezus luck when I now know for a fact that it isn't that.
So the first radiant job I ever received was actually in Solitude but ever since that, nothing. I tried for days because I thought my RNGeezus luck was just that bad. I tried saving beforehand and only clicking the white options, then reloading if I didn't get Solitude. Still nothing.
But then I noticed something: about 1/5 of the time they'd give me a mission but the quest marker would never pop up and I'd just ask again and they would act like they never even gave me a quest. So I started wondering: could those be my missing Solitude quests? Sure as shit, I downloaded a mod that allows you to choose which city you want the mission to be in and what do you know, every single city works except solitude. They just give me nothing.
Anyone know the deal here? I heard some people say that you have to listen to Ulfric or Tullius's speech after the Civil War and talk to them afterwards, so I went ahead and did the whole ass civil war quest line just to make sure I did that, even bought the Windhelm house for good measure but still nothing.
Please help 😭 also I have not called a single person in Solitude in case anyone is wondering.
I’ve played this game so much and I never noticed that the display case for Chillrend is actually named Chillrend’s Display Case.
So I have a couple of questions:
How do I destroy the Thieves Guild? I’ve talked to Brynljof and received the starting quest to steal in the market while he makes a distraction, but haven’t done the quest yet. So I’m not a member of the guild yet.
And can I kill Maven Black Briar? From what I understand she’s the source of a lot of the city’s problems, and I was wondering if I could help stop the crime and corruption in the Rift by getting rid of her.

I've finally completed the "Darkness Returns" quest for the Thieves Guild, but now I have to complete a bunch of city quests for Delvin and Vex, which seems like a pain, especially when they keep assigning me jobs in Raven Rock, even though those don't count. Is there a way to skip all this through console commands, and still become the Guildmaster?

I've only played skyrim special edition so I am not aware of all lore in elder scrolls. What I want to know tho is what sets the blackguard apart from the rest of the guild? Since you get the enhanced blackguard armor set in the dragonborn dlc from a former member of the guild (his letter does say he "ran away like a coward")
Unfortunately I only learned I could get Goldenglow Estate for free during Scoundrel's Folly after I completed it. If I had done what's necessary to have it for free, would I have failed the quest? If so, would I have become an enemy of the Thieve's Guild? If not, would I have lost my standing with them? If not becoming an enemy nor reducing my membership with them, I'd like to cheat to have it for free.
Would just adding the deed to my inventory get Goldenglow Estate for free? Or do I need to change the quest status, from incomplete, and do something in it? Or would even changing the quest status even allow the action to get it to be available (ie an NPC needed to be at X place before Y was told to him) ?
My PC met a street orphan for the 1st time and I'd like to get that NPC off the streets; and if there's a way to do it for free, all the better.
Thank you kindly
Im in the dark brotherhood and I completed the quest line. Is it possible for me to become a nightingale?
After my last post I had this idea and I thought it would be interesting. This match will be between two Skyrim players...
For the first opponent we have the Thieves Guild Dragonborn.
This Dragonborn has access to the Thieves Guild armor,Linwe's Armor, Guild Master's Armor,Nightingale Armor, and the Crown of Barenziah.
His available weapons are the Nightingale Bow with Iron arrows(hes pretty cheap), Nightingale Sword and Chillrend.
He is a level 50 Nord, with Archery,Sneak,Pickpocket and Lockpick 90.
The second Opponent is the Dark Brotherhood Dragonborn.
He has access to the Shrouded armor,Ancient Shrouded Armor,Shrouded Robes,Jester's Outfit, and Cicero's Outfit.
His one weapon is The Blade of Woe, but he does also use Spectral Assassin, and is riding Shadowmere. He also can use 1 follower, either Cicero or a Dark Brotherhood Assassin.
He is also a level 50 Nord(to make things more even) and has Light Armor and Alchemy 90.
Comment which one will win and why. This might be much more interesting than the usual fights.
To clarify how many of the groups you can join in Skyrim would you consider to be guilds? For example, the first ones obvious: The Thieves Guild is a guild, and well the Dark brotherhood is called a ¨brotherhood¨ I would think of it to be more of a guild, Here is a list of the groups you can join.
The thieves guild
The dark brotherhood
The companions
The college of winterhold
The nightingales
The bard's college
The blades
The dawnguard
The volkihar clan
The stormcloaks
The imperials
The cannibals of namira
If I forgot anything let me know.
1- A reputation system. It’s ridiculous to have guards treating you like you’re still a prisoner in Helgen when you’re a thane of several holds, the friend/ally of a number of Jarls, and the prophesied savior of the world who has devoured the souls of umpteen dragons…sometimes in front of the same guard who is dissing you. As you gain political power, combat skill, magical ability, and social prestige, the behavior of the NPCs should shift as well. (Rationally, most guards shouldn’t know about your lockpicking, sneaking, pickpocketing unless they catch you and/or you have a previous record.) And if the guards don’t know something (“You captured a dragon and let it go? Why? Why would you do such a thing?”), you should be able to tell them why (“Well, you see, the dragon Odahviing told me that Alduin was hiding in Sovngarde and he offered to fly me to the one ruined temple that had a portal to the Nord afterlife. What would you do?”) and have the information stick.
2-Alternatives to the Thieves’ Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. Both are huge and detailed plotlines—which makes the game much shorter if you don’t want to play as a thief or assassin. There should have been more choices. Instead of joining the Thieves’ Guild, become the Commander of the Riften Guard and destroy it, overcoming the corruption of the city and bringing about the downfall of Maven Black-Briar. Found an actual Warriors’ Guild (let’s face it, the Companions are werewolf mercenaries, not warriors). Rebuilding Helgen—and then convincing people to settle in it again—could be a long quest. Travel through a portal to test your strength and skill against leveled heroes of old; you know some people would love that. Learn how to speak more of Dovahzul than a handful of Shouts. (I would loveit if becoming fluent in Dragon Speech—and using it to speak to others—was a possibility. Especially since Alduin, the other dragons, the Dragon Priests, and the First Dragonborn are all so good at it.) Call for a kingsmoot—one where you’re only one of the possible candidates, and depending on how you play, any of you can become High King or Queen. (Which could be very good or very bad for Skyrim, turning into more plotlines.) I’m sure that all this and more is possible via
mod, but it should have been set up (and in detail) in the vanilla game.
3-An end to the war. Yes, you can fight for either side in the civil war and you can win, killing the main leader on the other side. But once it’s over…it’s not over. The NPCs still talk about the war as if it were ongoing. Merchants still cite the war as an obstacle to acquiring goods. Enemy camps remain in the wilderness; the soldiers don’t do anything but sit there unless you attack—or irk them by wandering too close to the camp. Ulfric Stormcloak is still spoken of in hushed tones for killing the High King; no one mentions his possible elevation to High King…or his death at the hands of the Imperials. And so on. I can’t help but feel that if the Skryim Civil War has ended, the people of Skyrim should, by Talos, notice not saying that i am not worshipping mannimarco he is the only god
4-Expansions leading to other Provinces - This is something we’ve never really gotten to see, unless you modded the game (but that’s not official), and that was exploring the other provinces in the CURRENT timeline. I wanted to see how Morrowind fared during the Oblivion Crisis, I wanted to see how the Empire’s province (forgot the name, its in TES4) during Skyrim’s Civil War timeline, that kinda stuff. And Bethesda? They could have easily made a big buck with those expansions.
Before number 5 honorable mention
Horse should’ve been faster - When I could race on foot to catch someone on horseback, you know the horses suck. More of a complaint honestly.
I wanna be bad, hey I’ll be a Bandit Leader! - That is something they should’ve added. Even joining and taking over those small criminal groups would’ve been nice an interesting too. If we wanna be bad, we should be allowed to join the most baddest elements instead of playing the hero all the time - just cause we’re the main protagonist doesn’t mean we wanna be good all the time.
Settlements
- I know, Fallout 4 came out with that later. But still, you gotta admit that running your own settlement, raising up buildings, ruling the people in it, assigning jobs, getting them to have a stable economy, all that stuff would’ve been interesting.
Alternate Starts - This is something Bethesda should’ve considered. You played the Dragonborn, now what? Wanna see what it’s like to start as Guard who wants to remove the corruption from Riften? Maybe you wanna try the role of a Vigilant who actively seeks out & destroys Daedric worshippers? Or maybe you wanna play as the character who found themselves next to a dead body but doesn’t know who they are? Or maybe you wanna try out as Ulfric Stormcloak, see what his life was like before he challenged the last king, before he launched the civil war, and maybe even before The White-Gold Concordat was signed?Playing as someone else increases replayability and opens up new perspectives. Yeah we have mods, but c’mon, they knew people want something new in the beginning, and they missed that opportunity.
5-More Endings - There could’ve been more optional endings. Say we DON’T want to kill the leaders of either side. What if I choose to be against both sides? What if the Dragonborn installs themselves as the new Emperor with the help of The Blades? Maybe even a part 2 like if the Stormcloaks win, then that means the Aldmeri Dominion may try to start a war with Skyrim or heck maybe a sneak attack happens which causes the Imperial General to regret the civil war and wish he had listened to Ulfric. What if after defeating Alduin you find out that a cult has emerged that is trying to take over Skyrim for their master? And lets just say, what if we chose to defend Whiterun instead of attacking it? And finally, Miraak joined Alduin, what if we chose to join him instead of killing him?
Can you tell me about your first Character in Skyrim? Also your play style?
Let me tell you about mine. His name was my own name. My character was a long black haired hipster bearded nord thief. Hilarious thing here is I've never pressed left-control button in my entire playthrough. I was like 9 years old. My character's whole inventory was stolen except the armor. I knew about the dark brotherhood (Didn't knew about the thieves guild) so I had shrouded armor set. I had an iron dagger in my left hand (I'm a left hander but later I learned it's not necessary) and flames in my right hand. Not sneaking but charging to enemies. Playing at the easiest difficulty. And only using fus ro dah.
