1- Shahvee
Maybe you've always dreamed of meeting an Argonian woman. If that's the case, Shahvee makes a great option. She's usually working at a tanning rack by Windhelm Docks, where you can approach her and pick up a quest from her. Shahvee has lost an amulet, which was stolen from her by bandits and is now being held in a random quest location.
After clearing out the bandits and getting the Amulet of Zenithar back, Shahvee can be married, and she'll also reward you with a bit of Light Armor and Lockpicking training if you wish.
2- Njada Stonearm
First member of the companions, almost identical to my 6th entry but with a wee less more talents available to her. As well as effectiveness in combat, Njada shows skill in speech, pickpocketing and sneaking too. She does not own any property you can move into, nor does she open a shop to earn you a bit of gold but she can train you to block better.
3- Brelyna Maryon
Holding a small room in the College of Winterhold, Brelyna shares her small space with the player upon marrying her. Brelyna can serve as a follower as well as a wife, where she provides powerful offensive spells in combat, granted she doesn’t take many hits to be defeated herself. As she can follow the player up to level 30, she’s another good choice when first starting off.
4-Uthgerd the Unbroken
You should seek out Uthgerd as soon as possible, as she’ll wager 100 gold for a brawl. The fight itself is straight-forward and although she seems intimidating, it can be won easily. That’s a free 100 gold, then you’ll have the option to marry her or make her your follower (or both!). In combat, few followers can match her might. Providing high tankiness and damage, she excels when used as a tank for the player to DPS from ranged.
5-Borgakh the Steel Heart
I know what you’re thinking, Orcs are arguably the least attractive race behind Argonians but hear me out. You get to move into larak longhouse, a huge Orc structure that serves you well. In the surrounding stronghold, plenty of merchants and skill-relevant resources are available to use. In general, you’d only marry her to take maximum advantage of such facilities.
6- aela the huntress
Not only the best wife, Aela the Huntress is among the best followers in the entirety of Skyrim. Capable of reaching up to level 50, you can obtain Aela as a follower early on in your adventures and she’ll follow you through the rest of them. Producing excessive skills in the likes of one-handed, sneak, light-armor, archery and speech make her a great all-rounder. There’s a reason Aela is the most popular wife among Skyrim players!
7- Jenassa
Not many companions are necessarily evil and ruthless in Skyrim, making Jenassa a unique character. It's evident from the moment you interact with her that she's incredibly sadistic and obsessed with killing. She's among the few companions that don't care if you make questionable ethical choices, like attacking hold guards or killing innocents.
If that sounds right up your alley, head over to The Dunken Huntsman inn found in Whiterun. She can be hired as a follower, after which you can marry her without any quests.
8- Lydia
Considered among the most popular companions and marriage partners, Lydia is an iconic woman in Skyrim. She's relatively easy to meet, since the main quest will lead you her way. Once you fight your first dragon at the Western Watchtower outside of Whiterun and discover your true nature as Dragonborn, Jarl Balgruuf will reward you with the position of Thane in Whiterun.
9- Sylgja
Race: Nord
Location: Shor’s Stone
Wife’s Property: Sylgja’s House
If you want the Tomboy worker vibe Sylgja could be the wife for you. Sylgja does a 12 hour shift at Redbelly Mine and can be found wearing miners clothes, boots and a pickaxe.
To win her favour Sylgja will ask you to do a Special Delivery and after that you can pursue her as a wife. As a wife Sylgja is fairly independent and if left she will just carry on with her regular schedule. Can try and take the wife out the mine but can’t take the miner out of the wife!
10- Ysolds
These lists are always going to be subjective but Ysolda in my opinion, is the best wife in Skyrim. She’ll make a hot wife and is really sweet too. Ysolda is a modest woman with her own house in Whiterun.
Ysolda is one of the easiest women to marry as all you have to do to win her favour is bring her a mammoth tusk.
