I have an idea for an ES spinoff game. It would be the second entry in the Elder Scrolls Adventures series, following the infamous Redguard. This game, The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Akavir, would take place during Emporer Uriel Septim V's attempted invasion of Akavir. You would be a high ranking imperial general in the legion, even meeting with the Emporer at times. Rather than an open world game, it would be a linear narrative action game. The games story would be about you and your legion advancing onto Akavir and fighting tsaecsi. It'd be third person only, and combat would be more interactive and strategic rather than button mashing. There wouldn't be an inventory, although your weapons would be automatically upgraded as you progress. Before each battle, you'd get a chance to change your battle tactics in a tactician mode thing. You'd survey the battlegrounds, choose what direction to attack from, perhaps on some battles choose to do a stealth attack. There also would be dynamic, randomized weather leading to different strategies and battles. You could also choose the time of day to attack. You can choose your number of troops, type of troops (cavalry, swordsmen, archers, battlemages, etc). This would lead to a lot of replayability. There also would be cutscenes throughout the game to expand the story and the characters, so it isn't a fighting simulator in the TES world. The game would progress until eventually you would reach a final battle that is literally impossible, no matter how you plan the battle you simply cannot win. After planning the battle, a cutscene would play where you argue with the Emporer himself, trying to convince him angrily that the battle cannot be won. He would be stubborn, and ignore you, and send you out where you would storm out of the tent. Then you would fight a very difficult battle where you're swarmed with enemies, and you'd lose. Luckily you alone would escape back to the Emporer, who would be extremely angry at you. He'd say you have failed him and failed the Empire, and then execute you with your own sword. The game would end and the credits would roll as a cutscene of the Imperial navy sailing back to Tamriel.
The reason I like this idea is because it's already set in the lore, and a problem like ESO wouldn't arise where the events, which are major events, never referenced in the games that take place in the future. We also would get to see Akavir without wasting a main title on it. I know this will never happen but I love the idea.
