Aegisbane is a unique iron warhammer that can be found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Acquisition[]
- "Ah, Aegisbane. Sigil of Clan Shatter-Shield. But didn't that get stolen a while back?"
- ―Windhelm Guard[src]
It can be obtained in the ruins of Raldbthar by defeating Alain Dufont, who stole the hammer from Clan Shatter-Shield.
Smithing[]
Aegisbane can be upgraded with an iron ingot and the Arcane Blacksmith perk at a grindstone; however, it does not benefit from any Smithing perks.
Trivia[]
- When wielding the warhammer in Windhelm, guards may notice it and comment on it. The comment names the weapon as "Aegisbane" and refers to it as the heirloom of the Shatter-Shields. The guard concludes the comment by stating that the last time it was heard of, it was stolen by Alain Dufont and Muiri.
- Despite these comments, there is no way to properly return it to Clan Shatter-Shield.
- Aegis was a shield in Greek mythology, so the name of this weapon translates to "shield bane."
