Armor denotes material worn about the body to protect it from damage, typically that which is inflicted by weapons such as swords, arrows, and blunt weaponry.

Leather Thin and light - perfect for thieves. (Weight: 1x, Armor: +3)
Chain Fairly thin and light. Cheap alternative to plate. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +6
Iron Poor knight's armor. Lighter and more brittle than steel. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +7)
Steel The standard. Strong but heavy. (Weight: Weight: 3x, Armor: +9)
Silver Lighter than steel, but just as strong. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +9)
Elven As heavy as silver, but stronger. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +11)
Dwarven Stronger and lighter than Elven (Weight: 1.5x, Armor: +13)
Mithril A metal as light as Elven and stronger than Dwarven. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +15)
Adamantium Although the same weight and strength as Mithril, is twice as rare. (Weight: 2x, Armor: +15)
Ebony Although only as heavy as Leather, Ebony ranks as one of the most resilient metals. (Weight: 1x, Armor: +17)
Orcish Of superb protection, Orcish is about twice the weight of Ebony (Weight: 2x, Armor: +19)
Daedric The heaviest and strongest of armors, deflects all but the strongest of blows. (Weight: 3x, Armor: +21)


There are four types of Shields in Daggerfall.

Types Description
Buckler A small basic shield
Round Shield A small round shield
Kite Shield A more shapely shield
Tower Shield A long Shield for protecting more of the body


There are many styles of clothing in Daggerfall, such as Kimonos. They offer no armor rating.
