Background[]

""Misty hollows filled with gregarious nixads. Hidden lagoons containing singing waters, clear as fresh-blown glass. Flowers that whispered secrets when the wind blew, and stones with names too long for mortal tongues to speak. Such was the island of Artaeum."—Vanus Galerion."

Artaeum is the home of the Psijic Order, a group of scholarly mystics based out of Ceporah Tower.[1] The island was originally a part of the Summerset archipelago until it disappeard from the face of Nirn when the Psijics placed it into a pocket realm to safeguard their home sometime prior to 2E 282.[2]

The landscape of Artaeum is much the same as the rest of the Summerset Isles, of which it was a part of. The most notable difference is the sky, featuring golden lines outstretched from an array of orbs, a feature of the pocket realm the island resides in. Various structures of typical Altmeri architectures are present,[1] but the island's most significant feature, Ceporah Tower, is noticeably not of Altmeri design, its base having been discovered with the island itself[3] and built by a civilization hundreds of years older than that of the Altmer.[4]
