Atakota is the entity that formed from the conflict of Atak and Kota, according to the Argonian creation myth.[1] As with most others, the Argonian creation myth tells of the interplay between the Argonian interpretations of Anu and Padomay, which resulted in the creation of the Aurbis and the formation of various spirits within it.[1][2]

Nature and identity[]

According to the Argonian creation myth, Atak and Kota coiled around each other until they became a single entity that named itself Atakota, and shed its skin. With Atakota not being in conflict, other spirits could form. After some of the spirits, the Aedra, had no more room to grow, they tore at Atakota's skin and drank of its blood, separating Atak and Kota from each other. Atak and Kota were later devoured by Atakota's shadow, which was the skin that it shed.[1]

The oral traditions of the Adzi-Kostleel tribe of Argonia claim that each of Atakota's scales was a world which it devoured,[1] a detail that shares similarities with Alduin's role as the World-Eater in Nordic mythology, and Satakal's role as the Worldskin, both of whom destroy the world to begin a new one in their respective pantheons.[3]

Atakota formed from the conflict of the Argonian equivalents of Anu and Padomay, and as such is in essence the Aurbis.[1]
