The Attunement Sphere is a miscellaneous item given to the Dragonborn by Septimus Signus during the quest Discerning the Transmundane. They are used in certain Dwemer ruins to unlock the way to Blackreach, by placing them into Dwarven Mechanisms.

Bugs
- Even after its initial purpose for the College of Winterhold questline is fulfilled, the Attunement Sphere remains a quest item and cannot be removed from the inventory unless it is lost in a jailbreak.
- (PC) One way to get rid of the Attunement Sphere from your inventory is to use the console command "player.removeitem 0003532C 1".
- The inventory image of the sphere has been changed in the latest update (1.4) to a red color along with the runed lexicon, but there seems to be a problem with it keeping this new color. It sometimes switches back and forth.
