Bamz-Amschend is a massive ruined Dwemer city below Mournhold. It is visited during the main quest of Tribunal. For a long time, the residents of Mournhold did not knew about the existence of Bamz-Amschend, due to the fact the city was underground, and also because they believed the ruins of the old city, destroyed by Mehrunes Dagon at the end of the First Era, were below the city. Near the end of the Third Era, the statue that depicted the battle between Almalexia and Dagon in the center of Plaza Brindisi Dorom, was destroyed by an army of fabricants, who attacked the Ordinators at the Plaza and opened a hole that lead to the city.

The ruins differ from those on the island of Vvardenfell:

  • The facilities are massive and spacious
  • They have different designs to those found in Vvardenfell
  • On the ceiling there are massive fans.

Under the Dwemer citythere is an even more ancient structure — Norenen-Dur, a massive shrine dedicated to the Daedric Princes.

Deep inside Bamz-Amschend there is a miracle of Dwemer technology: Karstanghz-Beharn, a device that could control the weather. Almalexia used it to unleash an ash storm in the city to make them believe she was still a godess.

In the city lived the ghost of Radac Stungnthumz, the man who forged Trueflame and Hopesfire. He also restored Trueflame for the Nerevarine.

There are many corridors and rooms blocked by rubble, although they are generally well-preserved. The ruins have an enormous architectural and historical value: theywere not plundered because of the lack of access to them for centuries.
