- "Fearsome brutes who inspire fear and dread in the hearts of their enemies. Like a storm, swift and powerful. Finding little use for heavy armor, they rely on smashing their foes into the ground."
- ―In-game description[src]
The Barbarian is a pre-made class in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Barbarians sacrifice heavy armor for light armor in favor of being more swift. They also sacrifice the specialization of any particular form of melee combat, using whatever means available to them to cut, crush, or pummel their way through whatever man, mer or beast is daring enough to oppose them.

Description and use[]
Barbarians are usually known as berserkers, and they live up to their name. Their tactics are very simple yet extremely effective, using their speed to quickly charge in and strike repeatedly.
Barbarians are mage-killers because their speed allows them to rush in before the mage can cast a spell. The only weakness of a barbarian is endurance, which is required for health and fatigue. This dramatically reduces the ability of a barbarian to take multiple hits. In combat, the Barbarian's best tactic is to dodge and strike and run from enemy attacks.
