Main article: Traps (Skyrim)

Bear traps are small traps that are laid out on the ground for unsuspecting victims to be caught in. They can, however, be disarmed upon activation with the "use" button. Another way to disarm the trap is to shoot the center with an arrow. However, it is recommended to explore with caution if the Dragonborn has a follower with them, as they can easily blunder into them.

Locations[]

They may be found in front of chests, protecting an area, or entrances to a building, as is the case in Fort Greymoor. They are also found within caves inhabited by Falmer, or Nordic ruins.

Trivia[]

It is possible to pick up bear traps and use them to hurt enemies or to kill weaker, low level enemies.

Bugs[]

This section contains bugs related to Bear Traps (Skyrim). Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  • If the Dragonborn has the "Light Foot" perk in the Sneak skill-tree, when using physics-carry, moving the bear trap towards oneself while stepping on it will lift them off of the ground for a short period of time before dropping again.
