Bend Will is a Dragon shout in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn.

Description

The Bend Will shout is learned during the main quest of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim add-on, Dragonborn. Unlike most shouts, its three words have different effects. The first word allows one to control animals and the stones, such as the Earth Stone in Solstheim. The second word allows the Dragonborn to control mortals. The third word allows the Dragonborn to control dragons, allowing he or she to ride them. Hermaeus teaches you the last 2 parts of the shout. You get the last shout to tame dragons before the very end of the quest line.

Notes on dragon riding

  • When used on a dragon, It will land and allow you onto it's back. Sadly you will not be able to fully control the dragon, only direct it.
  • Tamed dragons will talk to the Dragonborn. Often calling him/her Thuri [master].
  • You may fast travel while riding a dragon, however, you cannot travel to a main city (e.g Solitude).
  • If directed to attack another dragon, the two will engage in aerial combat.
  • Dragons can be directed to attack NPC's such as hold gaurds.
  • Using it on a airborn dragon will cause it to land directly.
  • Some time after dismounting, the dragon will fly off. However if the player 'waits' the dragon will become hostile again.
  • If the dragon dies, you will be dismounted. Much like a horse.
