Walkthrough[]

On the road northeast of Evermore, you will find Captain Eugien Gaercroft. Speak with him and he will tell you that the reachmen have attacked Northglen. He has sent scouts out to look for any surviving civilians, but only two of them have returned. The soldier he sent out to look for the missing scouts, Isabeth, has also not returned; she was last seen entering the chapel. Captain Gaercroft will send you to go look for her. He will give you a potion that both heals and turns the drinker temporarily invisible, so as to help the lost scouts return to the camp.

Head into town and toward the chapel, but beware of the many Reachmen and zombies you will have to face along the way. On the top floor, you will find an injured Hatmi; talk to her and she will mention she last saw Isabeth rescue a villager and a Wyress; she was taking them to the wyress camp in the Ayleid ruins nearby, hoping to form an alliance against the Reachmen.

You will find the Ayleid ruin to the northeast; once there, speak with Wyress Asteria. She will tell you that they owe Isabeth for saving a wyress, but that the villager they brought along had some sort of disease. Asteria will direct you to speak with Wyress Delphique inside the ruins for more information. Head in and speak to Delphique; she will tell you that the villager will go nowhere until she is cured. She has one last rite she can think of to cure her, which she will perform the moment you are done talking. It will kill the villager though; speak with Delphique afterwards and she will tell you the nature of the sickness the villager got; the reachmen were turning her into a zombie.

When asked to form an alliance with the soldiers of Evermore, Delphique will refuse as she does not trust them. In order to win her trust, you must prove that you are on her side by using her runes to wither the Reachmen's markers in the fields, and then cut off the head of their leader Duraeg. Head out of the ruins and south past the town. In the field there, you will see strange root-like things with a green aura about them. These are the markers; use the runes to destroy them. Once the markers are gone, look for Duraeg. He will be in the house in the southeast, in the basement. Kill him, and Isabeth will appear. Follow her outside and talk to her there; she will tell you that Duraeg was trying to turn her into a zombie like the others. She will also tell you that Duraeg has several stashes of the seeds they use for this; you should search the area and destroy them.

The seed stores are in the big wooden crates in the fields west of the house. There are four in total; destroy all of them, then head back to the Evermore Camp. You can use the poultice now if you want, to turn invisible so the Reachmen will not attack you. Either way, when you arrive back in camp, you will witness the reunion between Isabeth, Captain Gaercroft and Wyress Delphique. Delphique will use her magic to see whether Isabeth is infected; when it turns out she is, Delphique will demand that the captain kills her or there will be no alliance, but he will refuse to kill his daughter. Speak with Isabeth and she will tell you that she is willing to die for this alliance; after the conversation is over, she will tell Delphique to kill her. Speak with Captain Gaercroft afterwards and he will reluctantly agree to an alliance. This will finish the quest.
