Black Briar Lodge is a three story building Directly East of Riften in line with the moutains.
Two Black Briar Mercenaries guard the outside and attack on sight. Each Mercenary carries a copy of the Black Briar Lodge Key, which allows the player access to the main lodge.
The Lodge itself is a fully furnished three story environment and houses five Black Briar Mercenaries. Attacking one of the Mercenaries usually brings all of them into combat with the player.
Strangely, everything in the house is labelled as "owned" by someone, even after you kill all the Mercenaries. Therefore, you can only Steal most items in the lodge, even after it's empty of NPCs. The Lodge may be part of an undiscovered quest which changes this behavior.
