Blackmail is a main quest in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall.
Quick walkthrough[]
- Speak to Helseth and accept his quest
- Wait a day
- Take the letter to Lord Castellian
- Return to Helseth
Walkthrough[]
In Castle Wayrest, speak to Helseth Hlaalu, who is sitting atop a table in the dining room. He will ask the Agent to serve as a courier. Accept, and return the following day to receive the message.
Proceed to the location of Lord Castellian and provide him with the letter:
"You wait while Lord Castellian reads the letter. His skin grows pale and his hands begin to shake."
Castellian will respond in shock, and say "I see. Please wait while I pen a response to Prince Helseth."
"It only takes him a minute to write the response, which he then hands you."
Bring this letter back to receive a reward from Helseth.
If the Helseth's letter is read before being given to Lord Castellian, he will send out troops to slay the Agent, stating:
"This letter has been opened. You exceed the bounds of a courier, Agent (Player name)."
Likewise, his agents will remark:
"Lord Castellian has ordered your death. He wanted me to tell you that you know too much."
Trivia[]
- A courier delivers a small amount of gold and a Letter to the Agent if "Elysana's Robe" quest is completed first.
