RP board to be or not to be.

It’s time to have a discussion about the RP boards. I and some of the other sysops have questioned if it really should be here. Our wiki is not a role player wiki, and we think the best is to move it to an actual RP wiki. Like Fallout wiki who has its own RP wiki.

I have talked with Wikia and it is possible to do a transfer, it’s tricky but it can be done. It does clog up the recent activity and not all are using the filters to leave it out, so they are frustrated when looking through it. I know that many will be disappointed and not happy with this, but we need to have a discussion about it. Yes, they attract users to come here, but we are also in need of more editors for the main space and how many of the RP players do edit seriously.

We have one RP wiki in mind for this. Elder Scrolls Roleplaying Wiki

Please keep a civil tone when posting, if it results in a flame war the thread will be closed.

That is just one reason, but there is other reasons that Ghost have stated several times, that we do not allow fanon or mods in the mainspace, in articles. So why are we doing it in the forum?

We also don't allow individual opinions or speculation to be stated in the articles, so, by that logic, we should remove any thread which contains speculation or just outright opinion.

Why do we have a Mod Board then? Shouldn't that be removed as well? What about all the threads involving speculation on TES VI? By that logic all those should be removed as well since we don't allow speculation in our articles.

We don't allow Off Topic stuff in articles.. so why do we do it on the forums? If the RP board is going to get deleted over that argument, let's just delete the chat, off topic board, etc. as well.

What about opinion/speculation blogs? And other off topic blogs?

If you go by that logic Ebony then half the Wiki's features should be removed.

There are so many comments for me to read that I am postponing the two novels I have started. This is material enough for a month. This is actually a good thing, it shows that you are all interacting (unlike myself unfortunately) with this post.

This discussion, the debate and even the issue ended with the hub compromise.

I think that the thread can be closed now, if any mods/admins are available, so that people don't keep, pointlessly, reviving the thread.
