This is to formalise whether or not we should formally adopt the use of Message Walls, instead of the current model of using Talk Pages.
The voting on message wall has ended. The votes were too close to make the switch and a consensus was not met amongst everyone involved. So, message wall will not be introduced at this time.
Tips to fixing talk page concerns
- Since we are not introducing message wall we are trying to find a better way to grab the attention of the user when it comes to getting them to sign messages. A red text banner atop the talk page edit window was implemented a few days ago.
- Updating the default user welcome message with a clear message about the use of four ~ (and signature button) to sign talk pages.
- Updating the page on creating a talk page archive. The explanation should be simple and easy to understand. A Step-by-Step guide, perhaps with images.
- Updating the how-to on creating custom signatures. A Step-by-Step guide, also with images.
The preceding is where our user concerns lay. Administrators will take these concerns to action in hopes that the use of talk pages won't be a burden to the new or inexperienced TESWikian.
