For me No. 1 Some colour palettes on the weapons / armour. 2. Dagger perks, One-handed -Throw Dagger (giving you a reason to have a few iron dagger's), Block - parry / counterattack (especially if dual wielded) 3. Custom combo's for weapons. 4. Bow at 80/100 perk - Mark target/s. 5. Auto cast spell/s (protection/summon) 6. Have the Hardcore/realistic mode divided into buttons so you can turn the different rules on/off. More customisable / tactical features add a lot.
Ultra customizable armor and weapons. Mostly cosmetic in nature. Like feathers and wraps for bows, colors and etching for sheathes and such. Dies for clothing, and more style options with armor and clothing. Also having different weapon styles with leveled materials. Such as having a saber or falchion style blade that can be forged, but being able to forge it from different materials (i.e. malachite, iron, steel, ebony, etc.). Bring back spears!!!!!! Expand on the awesome combat mechanics of Skyrim with more weapon choices.
I really enjoy realistic weapons. The massive and quirky high level bows kinda turn me off. Keep proportions real and add more artistic detail to weapons. Maybe do a little research into weapon physics and apply it into the designs. It is alot more enjoyable to use a weapon in-game if our brains think it looks "right/real".
This is the big one that I would like. Have a gameplay mode that is realistic. Kinda like the Fallout: New Vegas hardcore mode. Realistic damage on both sides. Account for armor, but a solid swing to the neck is a kill. Same with center mass or nervous system hits with an arrow (assuming the enemy has a nervous system((Also take into account physiological differences in enemies)). Have fast travel with wagons only. A map that requires you to find or purchase parts of it, and have no player marker on the map. You have to navigate by direction and features alone.
The next game needs more Jyggalag. I noticed a shocking lack of him in Skyrim.
One more thing. Sheogorath needs a better quest line. The one in Skyrim was okay, but the one in Oblivion was much better, even before you go to the Shivering Isles.
One more thing. They need to bring back spell creation, and the ability to name poisons/potions. I was extremely disappointed that I couldn't make a fireball spell that also summoned a Flame Atronach.
One more thing. The Morag Tong need to come back. Possibly make quests and events that would force the player to choose between the Morag Tong or the Dark Brotherhood. Since both are now in the worst possible shape, they could probably make a quest involving siding with one and destroying the other for good.
One more thing. Elder Scrolls isn't the same without an Arena.
I think you should be able to see wounds on your character and your enemy. If you stab an bandit you should be able to see the stab wound
Oh that reminds me, I'd like to be able to have better control over picking up objects. Everytime I decapitate someone, I want to pick up their head, walk over to a basket, and slam dunk it.
That would make it easier to pick up any object on the floor or put items on a shelf or table
Npc's should react to what you're wearing more. Example: You've just committed a horrible crime, and so you decide to disguise yourself as a guard in order to get into town without getting killed. As soon as it comes off, the whole town freaks out.
Which brings me to my next idea. They should put into better account what your character has done in the past. Example: So-and-so has heard you're the Dragonborn, and grants you their full respect as well as a quest or something. In contrast, if you've had a naughty past, people have a hard time trusting you and might not even give you certain quests. Let's face it. Isn't it a bit strange that a Dark Brotherhood assassin can just strut into town and nobody cares? Also, wanted posters would be cool.
I do also like the survival mode idea. And I want to at least be able to play with one other player, like in Fable III.
I'd like more types of attacks, like Chivalry. For example, stabbing, which has more distance. Overhead, which has limited accuracy but does more damage. Slash, which is standard.
I'd also like more complicated bosses, like in Zelda or when you fought Jyrik, Ancano, or Potema. You don't just run in and stab them, you have to do a certain thing to hurt them or make them vulnerable.
Also how about more weapons in general? I mean in Morrowind we had everything! In Skyrim we had a weapon for every metal and that was it. Also some uniques but most of them were generic.
