A deed forgotten was still a deed done
In the waning years of the fourth era of Tamriel, just after the last Dragonborn's merciless slaying of Alduin, Lord Harkon, and Miraak, a storm is beginning to brew just West of Hammerfell.
In his reading of the Elder Scroll, a Moth Priest discovered the mention of another Elder Scroll, one that contained a prophecy elaborated simply as: "It shall come forth from the depths and reap it's justice." and that this prophecy can be activated by the scroll itself. This Moth Priest alerted an Imperial Admiral, and the rumor began to spread, from his crew, to the underworld, and to the Dominion itself. The prophecy becoming perversed; each believing what they wanted it to mean. Knowing full well that the scroll could turn the tides of any war, and give them the upper hand, both navies scrambled to the sea West of Hammerfel to find the scroll as soon as possible, before the other side could. Both sides considered how all out war would not mean well for either of them. They kept their naval conflicts secret from the rest of the world, keeping it to the sea and only the sea. As evidenced in the past, and will be in the future, the sea never forgets, yet it always keeps a secret.
They're not the only ones who want the scroll, however. Almost every pirate worth his salt knows of the scroll, it's dangers, and the price it holds, and they all wish to get at it before any other. As if this was not troubling enough, old pirate folklore that was previously dismissed as merely superstition seems to be proving itself very real. A ghost ship, The Leviathan, crewed by a supernatural group known as "The Damned". There have bee numerous reports of ships, floating through the sea, their crew dead, some left to die a slow death, some eviscerated and made an example out of, and captains crucified against the mast. It's said that they always bring a storm in their wake.
But enough of that. This story begins with a ship. A ship known as 'The Jackal', belonging to a relatively unknown pirate and his crew. You are either one of the men or women crewing the Jackal, or you're awaiting recruitment by a pirate captain at the inn known as "The Iron Scalon" in Stros M'Kai, along with the several other briggands and crooks doing the same. You are a pirate.
People of Interest:
Ocarus Marillo -- Admiral of the Imperial Navy and commanding officer in charge of all Imperial activities during the mission to find the Elder Scroll. He captains "The Emperor's Hand", and controls two fleets, captaining one and leaving the other to his subordinate.
Parius Elesius -- Imperial Fleet Captain who controls the fleet that Ocarus does not. Young, yet professional, Parius is also the privileged son of a smug senator. Captains the ship known as "The Seraphim".
Calero -- Aldmeri Admiral and officer in charge of Aldmeri operations West of Stros M'Kai on this particular mission. He captains "The Valiant", and like his Imperial counterpart, controls two fleets yet captains only one.
Valcem -- Fleet Captain for the fleet not controlled by the admiral, Calero. He's often ridiculed behind his back for being the illegitmate child of a Nord pirate, and a married Altmer noble, and called "Valcem the Bastard". He captains "The Meridian Lady".
Rules:
1. General RP rules, use common sense.
2. Do not control other characters unless it is minor, or they allow you to.
3. I am the law. Flamedude22 is also the law, but to a much lesser extent.
4. Not required, but it'd be nice if you checked our dear friend Goldflame33's blog about RPing if you haven't already. He has some useful tips there.
5. Be a pirate. Not a stowaway, not a fisherman, not an Imperial officer, not an Aldmeri officer, a pirate, or someone looking to become a pirate.
6. Have fun. I mean, if you really don't want to, that's fine I guess, but don't ruin other people's fun.
