PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST:
News arrived last month of the Emperor, Titus Mede II, was assassinated aboard the Katariah, outside of Solitude.
Since then many things have happened in the Imperial City. The Thalmor have declared marshall law, issuing a strict curfew after 10 o'clock. Council members are escorted by armed gaurds to the meetings of the Elder Council, where the meticulously debate about the fate of the Empire. Two major factions have risen, along with dozens of minor ones. The two major ones are the Imperialists, or the Medetions, that wish for the Empire to stay the way it has always been, and the Republicists, who wish to oust the position of Emperor entirely, in favor of a Republic.
This confusion has only caused the underworld to grow. Assassins, theives, illegal gambling rings, street gangs, and all forms of scum run rampant, in and below Imperial City. The Thalmor, Penitus Oculatus, and the Imperial Guard all lead seperate raids on these overwhelming criminal elements. Often slaying each other in the process, either from bad intelligence, bad blood, or a full on turf war between police forces. Corrupt officials and officers line their pockets with illgotten Septims, as blood fills the streets, and unidentified corpses are burned in great number.
The Empire is in dire straights, and many men stand to make a profit, whatever the outcome maybe, and no matter how many lives are lost in the process.
Background:
Right now it is 4E 201, here's some general stuff about the events that have happened in plot of Skyrim:
- The Dragonborn is a Nord Dunmer mix, his name is Konahrik. If any of this ever comes up, which it probably won't. (No one is Dragon Born)
- The Dark Brotherhood questline and all it entails has happened.
- Amaund Motierre was not killed.
- The late Emperor has no known heirs.
- The Civil War is not over as of yet.
Power Players:
These are people to watch out for:
- Arcanox - The temporary millitary govenor of Cyrodiil placed there by the Thalmor. He is there to keep the peace, and make sure everything turns out in favor of the Aldmeri Dominion. Personallity wise, think Jyggalag + Mikael the Horrid.
- Amaund Motierre - A powerful member of the Elder Council, and a strong advocate for the Republicists. He's a figity, nervous, paranoid wreck, ever since he returned from his sabbatical to Skyrim, last month.
- Salvius Salatious - An aging overweight crime boss. Powerful, and apparently quite charming.
- Uxtable Pemrose - A breton noble, not very powerful, but crafty and trechorus. The cousin of some very rich essentric in High Rock.
- Constable Karipus Marillius - The Captian of the Imperial Guard, willing to choose the leser of the evils, rather siding with Crime Lords an Low Lives, than the Thalmor. Willing to kill anyone who stands in his way of ridding Cyrodiil of the Aldmeri menace. He keeps his war secret. The Thalmor only think he is incompitent and foolish.
Rules:
1. Use your head: Don't do random stupid stuff. You'll figure it out.
2. Only control your own character: Unless a person has given you permission, or you're me.
3. I reserve the right to kill anybody if they keep doing dumb stuff because they don't think there will be any consequences.
4. Don't spontaneously create unique items, if it's not something you listed you had, or you found in the city, you don't have it.
5. Don't make OP items. I'll remove them.
6. Don't do anything crazy if I don't edit in a few days. I can't be as OCD with this as I was with the Rose.
7. Don't leave Imperial City with out a very good reason.
Regulations:
The point of this RP is to tell the best story possible, and have the most fun we can doing it.
- You can have as many characters as you can handle. So, definatly not over 4. But having one character is probably the best, as you can dedicate the most time to their development.
- Let you character die. If it's your time, if you think it will do good for the plot, or even if you just don't want to be your character anymore, kill them off. But try to make it good.
- This RP will occasionally jump a number of years, things will happen, technology will advance, wars will start and end, and your character will have things happen to them, and they will inevitably age. After I describe what happened during the time lapse, you put what your character did during it, and what happened to him/her during it. Beware, I may change it.
