Obviously this is a question about the Dragon language, specifically the greeting of the Dov.(Nevermind Dragons and dragonkin, it's not the topic.)
Whenever greeting Paarthurnax he says "Drem yol lok" we all got that. Odahviing, Durnehviir and Alduin on the other hand never does. Neither does Sahloknir say "Drem yol lok" when resurrected. He goes straight to "Alduin thuri." One thing here is that you never really used the fire shout to greet them. And Paarthurnax never said "Drem yol lok" before you shouted at him. Through his conversations it also seems that Dov only greet those who have shouted "Yol" at them with "Drem Yol Lok".
The times you are greeted this is what you hear as the first words
Odahviing, Dragonsreach: "Dovahkiin, here I am!" Odahviing, Throat of the world: "Pruzah wundana wa wuth gein." He also seems to greet you as "Thuri".
I do not remember Durnehviirs exact words, but he doesn't use the dragon language much, only when naming you the victor. He never says "Drem yol lok".
I won't wrte out all of Alduins quotes. But he never says "Drem yol lok." This is pretty unsterstandable tho. Seeing as he is who he is. HE introduces himself but beyond that he only taunts you and flaunts his power as a Dovah and the Firstborn of Akatosh.
So waht are your thoughts? How is it decided who is greeted by "Drem yol lok"?
