Bone Break Fever

Bone Break Fever is a disease that one can catch from fighting monsters, or eating raw monster meat. The disease is contracted from skeevers, bears, and a few other creatures.

This disease can have a large effect on low level characters as they are low on Strength (Oblivion) and Stamina (Skyrim). But in higher levels in either games, one won't have to worry about this disease as higher level characters usually have higher Strength and Stamina levels. It is easy to get rid of it via a shrine or cure disease potion, so curing it is recommended.

Bugs

This section contains bugs related to Bone Break Fever. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  • Sometimes catching the disease will make it impossible for one to sneak. Reloading the game from a previous save will fix it.
  • Sometimes it is possible to contract this disease even with disease immunities.
  •  360   If untreated for a few in-game days, one may start to "ragdoll" about the map/game as opposed to walking.
  • Rarely, even after the disease is cured, people may still comment that you look sickly.
  •  360   It only affects lower level players. Unsure if it happens at lower levels, but at level 81 the disease may have absolutely no negative effects.
  •  PS3   Occasionally, the disease reduces by 0 points (not level-dependent).
