Main article: Imperial Cult Quests

Brandy for the Fundraising Dinner is an Imperial Cult quest given to the Nerevarine from Iulus Truptor. It is one of the almoner's mission.

Background[]

As the Balmora shrine is planning a fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth, food and refreshments are needed. While lots of food was donated, the donations of strong spirits don't suffice. Iulus Truptor tasks the Nerevarine with trying publicans to donate five bottles of Cyrodilic Brandy. He claims that only this type of brandy will do, as the sort of people with enough money to donate refuse to drink the local spirit, Greef.

Objectives[]

  • Talk to Iulus Truptor.
  • Talk to the publicans in Balmora.
  • When talking to Bacola Closcius he will hint that Banor Seran stores the required amount of Cyrodilic brandy.
  • Steal the brandy from the Banor Seran OR donate the missing bottles yourself by buying them.
  • Return to Iulus Truptor to deliver the five bottles of Cyrodilic brandy.

Walkthrough[]

When talking to Iulus Truptor after the quest "Shirt and Vest for Harvest's End" has been completed, Iulus Truptor tells the Nerevarine that the cult is in need of five bottles of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner. He asks him to solicit publicans in Balmora for a donation of brandy.

Balmora has three taverns. A total of four bottles of brandy can be obtained from the merchants themselves as donations.

  • Banor Seran at the Council Club will donate a bottle, if his disposition is at least 90. However, his disposition will then drop to 20, and cannot be raised afterward.
  • Benunius Agrudilius is willing to donate spirits, but will only donate brandy if his disposition is at least 70, otherwise he donates greef if disposition is at least 30.
  • Bacola Closcius will donate a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy if his disposition is at least 30, making him the easiest donator.
  • Another bottle can be obtained from Dulnea Ralaal, if her disposition is at least 70 and "The Entertainers" plug-in is installed.

Bacola further hints that Banor Seran at the Council Club recently received the required amount of brandy. He points the Nerevarine to the place where Banor Seran most likely stores the brandy and says that it wouldn't be a bad crime to steal from Banor as he is an associate of the Camonna Tong.

The Nerevarine can now decide to steal the brandy from Banor Seran. Alternatively he could always donate the brandy himself by buying (or stealing) it from any source. Once he has obtained the requested five bottles of Cyrodil brandy, the Nerevarine should return to Iulus Truptor in Ebonheart (not Fort Moonmoth as the journal states) to deliver it to get his reward.

1 Iulus Truptor says we need 5 bottles of Cyrodilic brandy for a fundraising dinner. I'm to make the rounds of the tradehouses and cornerclubs in Balmora and ask if the publicans will donate the necessary brandy. When I have the brandy, I'm to deliver it to Iulus Truptor.
  • Quest accepted
5 I told Iulus Truptor I couldn't get five bottle of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth. He was disappointed, and told me to decide whether my talents and temperaments are suited for soliciting donations. Before I approach him again for an almoner's mission, I must be sure I want to give the Imperial cult my full commitment.
  • Quest failed
50 I delivered five bottles of Cyrodilic brandy to Iulus Truptor at Fort Moonmoth. He was very pleased. He gave me tokens of Zenithar's special blessing, and told me to speak to him again when I'm ready for another almoner's mission.

1 Bacola Closcius gave me a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth. He also hinted that Banor Seran at the Council Club just took delivery of some Cyrodilic brandy, and that he's probably got it stored in a closet in the hall just right of the bar. He says the Council Club is just a front for Camonna Tong gangsters, suggesting it wouldn't REALLY be a crime to steal the brandy from them.

1 Banor Seran at the Council Club gave me a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth. I think he gave it to me just to make me go away.

1 Benunius Agrudilius refused to give me Cyrodilic brandy, and gave me a bottle of greef instead.
5 After I pressed him, Benunius Agrudilius yielded and gave me a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth.

1 After I pointed out the value of gaining the good will of the Imperial cult in a town where Imperial influence is so strong, Dulnea Ralaal gracefully donated a bottle of Cyrodilic brandy for the fundraising dinner at Fort Moonmoth.

Trivia[]

  • If the Nerevarine fails to deliver the brandy, he needs to wait a full day until he can start the next almoner's mission.
  • Unlike the other almoner's missions this quest triggers no journal entry if the Nerevarine fails the quest.
    • This is happening due to a bug that the "IC12_dinner_not" journal entry is set at 0.
