Carnival Conundrum is a quest available in The Elder Scrolls Online.

Background

Sarandel's Carnival came from the Summerset Isle to spread High Elf culture. Unfortunately, they've suffered numerous setbacks in performing for the Wood Elves of Grahtwood.

Walkthrough

Southwest of the Root Sunder Ruins, you will find an Altmer lady named Sarandel. She will tell you that she came here with her troupe to spread Altmeri culture to the Bosmer, but she has run into several problems. The trained bugs have fallen ill, the magicial's supplies are missing, and the storyteller's stories fell flat. She will ask you to speak with her troupe members to see if you can help resolve these issues.

The Bug Wrangler, Cornar, will be in the south of the camp. He will tell you that his bugs are not acclimatized to the climate of Valenwood, and are thus doing poorly. He will tell you that back home, he would often feed them ground mudcrab eyes as a treat, but he cannot buy any of those here. Next, head west to the storyteller, Noryon. His problem is that he has no stories to tell that are relevant to the Bosmer people; all his stories are of ancient Altmer. He asks you if you could get him a book that contains Bosmer stories, so that he may tell the people something that is relevant to them and their culture. For this, he will direct you to Scholar Glaurolin in the Elden Root Mages Guild. Finally, on the west side of the camp, you will find Vindare the Magnificent in a tent. She will tell you that her supplies were shipped to Haven, but due to the recent pirate attack, they have not been shipped to her location. She will ask you to retrieve them for her.

Now that you have heard the troubles of the performers, it is your job to resolve these issues. For the magician's supplies, head to Haven. You can find them on the western pier in the south of the city, in a mystical trunk. For the mudcrab eyes, head northeast of the city, and start hunting mudcrabs on the beach. You need twelve eyes in total, so killing six mudcrabs will be enough. You can also hunt mudcrabs in on the beach in western Grahtwood, but hunting them here is more efficient due to its proximity to your objective in Haven. Finally, head to the Mages Guild in Elden Root and speak to Scholar Glaurion to pick up a book for the storyteller. He has one text from an Akaviri spy, written in the Akaviri language. Take it, then return to the carnival.

Once you have obtained all the items the performers need, return to the carnival and give them the items, then speak with Sarandel again to finish the quest. If you wish, you can stay for a while and witness some of the performances.
