Celemaril Light-Bringer, also known as the Celemaril the Great,[1] and also known by his title of the Sorcerer-King was an Ayleid ruler and necromancer in the First Era.[2] During the Fourth Era he escaped his tomb in his new Lich form. He is the main antagonist of The Elder Scrolls: Blades.
Background[]
Celemaril rose to power during the First Era, ruling over the land where the Fugitive's town now stands.[2] He raised an undead army with the goal to rule over Tamriel, however, he was stopped by a rebellion led by his brother, Valentis, and the other Ayleid kings.[3][4] After his defeat, Valentis sealed him under a statue using the power of an Elder Scroll, and erased his name from history.[4]
Sometime in the early Fourth Era, the founder's statue was destroyed during an attack by the Bloodfall Queen's men, revealing the hidden Ayleid tomb beneath and breaking the seal placed on Celemaril, thus freeing him.[5]
