Culanda Stones are gold-colored, magical stones used for triggering magical effects, storing magicka and as a light source thanks to the bright, yellow light they emit. Once used or depleted, they are destroyed and cannot be used again. They have similarities with Welkynd stones and Varla stones, among which is the Aetherial origin of material they are made of.[1]

Although it is unknown outside of Summerset Isles whether they are an invention or merely a discovery by the Altmer, some theorize that they were made by tinkering with meteoric glass and Ayleid stones. Others claim High Elves separately unlocked secrets of Ayleids and even improved upon them.[1]
