History[]

Second Era[]

Main article: Darkwater Crossing (Online)

During the Interregnum in 2E 582, the town of Darkwater Crossing was inhabited by Argonian migrants that had arrived from Stonefalls, Morrowind, seeking work at Fort Amol. But due to subsequent overpopulation, the settlers moved eastward and founded the town of Darkwater Crossing. One of the Argonians, Stormy-Eyes was an accomplished healer and a Dreamwalker, a priest of Vaermina that can walk into people's dreams. Around the same time, the leaders of the Ebonheart Pact gathered at Fort Amol to discuss the condition of the alliance. Jorunn the Skald-King was poisoned by a Daedric concoction used by the Stormfist Brigade, a militia owned by Jorunn's brother, Fildgor Orcthane. The Ebonheart Pact required the help of Stormy-Eyes and the Ternion Monks from Mistwatch. A traveler called the Vestige aided the Argonians of Darkwater to have Stormy-Eyes help the King.[2]

A Redguard named Asmalah the Caller traveled to Darkwater to have Stormy-Eyes help his dying wife. The resulting procedure ended with her death, and it made Asmalah vengeful towards the Argonians. He covered the town in blood, causing the local Trolls to ransack the town. The Argonians fled to a nearby cave. The Vestige defeated the Troll Leader and brought peace in Darkwater by bringing Asmalah to his senses. Stormy-Eyes later traveled to Mistwatch to help Jorunn overcome the poison.[2]

Fourth Era[]

Main article: Darkwater Crossing (Skyrim)

For some time, Darkwater Crossing was abandoned and had no use up until 4E 201, when a Nordic explorer named Annekke Crag-Jumper discovered a vein of Corundum Ore on the hillside and built a cabin there. Word spread in Eastmarch and more people arrived at her home and set up camp. Darkwater Crossing was founded at that point and became property of the city of Windhelm.[3] This same year, Ulfric Stormcloak along with a contingent of Stormcloaks were ambushed at Darkwater Crossing and sent to Helgen for execution.[4]
