The Drainspell Bow is a unique Ancient Nord Bow found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Acquisition[]

The Drainspell Bow is one of four unique ghost weapons wielded by spectral variants of draugr. These can be encountered only in Labyrinthian during "The Staff of Magnus" quest, with the exception of the Ghostblade, found during "A Love Beyond Death."

The other three weapons are the Drainblood Battleaxe, Drainheart Sword and Ghostblade.

Enchantment[]

It absorbs 15 points of magicka with each hit. As with most other ghost weapons, it cannot be improved at a grindstone. Additionally, it can also be disenchanted at an Arcane Enchanter to learn its enchantment.

Trivia[]

  • The bow's enchantment is very weak; when fully charged, it can only last for two to three hits before being totally drained.

Bugs[]

This section contains bugs related to Drainspell Bow. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  •  PC   360   PS3   If placed on a weapon rack, it may sometimes fall through.
  •  PC   360   PS3   Due to the weapon's holder spawning as a different Draugr due to the game's random generator, the Bow's appearance in a game is completely random. For some it may show two or three times in a game, for others it may never show. The only way to fix this is to reload a save right before you enter Labyrinthian.
  • You can disenchant this weapon even if you already have the absorb magicka enchantment, like the other drainspell weapons, you can also stack the both enchantments.
