Eastmarch is one of the nine Holds of Skyrim. It is one of the four oldest holds in Skyrim, known collectively as Old Holds [1] The major city of Eastmarch is Windhelm. Ulfric Stormcloak is the Jarl of Windhelm and Eastmarch.
The Dragonborn can receive the title "Thane of Eastmarch" upon completing a series of quests and buying the house Hjerim in Windhelm.
Central/south Eastmarch seems to be a volcanically active area, plains with steaming gas leaking in between cracks in the ground, colorful, mineral filled bodies of water, and geysers. The far west of the hold resembles much of the rest of central skyrim, and the north a mountainious tundra. The east is composed of a mountain range, which extends down to The Rift .

- Palace of the Kings - the seat of power to the Jarl of Windhelm, Ulfric Stormcloak. Also the Stormcloaks headquarters.

Camps
- Cradlecrush Rock — A small giant camp
- Broken Limb Camp — A giant Camp
- Steamcrag Camp
- Eastmarch Imperial Camp — A small Imperial Camp. Note that it may or may not exist, depending on the status of the Civil War campaign.
Caves
- Uttering Hills Cave — A cave north of Broken Limb Camp and west of Anga's Mill inhabited by bandits.
- Cronvangr Cave — A medium-sized cave inhabited by Frostbite Spiders and Vampires.
- Cragwallow Slope — A remote cave where conjurers are attempting to excavate ancient ruins.
- Lost Knife Hideout — A large cave system that serves as the hideout for the Lost Knife Bandits.
- Darkwater Pass — A cave near Darkwater Crossing infested by Falmer.
- Snapleg Cave — A large cave carved into the side of a mountain far to the east of Ivarstead.
- Eldergleam Sanctuary — An underground grove and worship site of the followers of Kynareth.
- Stony Creek Cave — A small cave located on the eastern edge of Eastmarch that is occupied by bandits.
- Cragslane Cavern — A small cave used by bandits for Skooma operations that also appears to be running an animal fighting ring.
Farms
Forts
- Gallows Rock — A single level fort occupied by the Silver Hand.
- Morvunskar — A fort Located to the south-west of Windhelm, inhabited by mages.
- Abandoned Prison — A collapsed, partially flooded Imperial prison. It is inhabited by the ghosts of its drowned prisoners.
- Fort Amol — A Stormcloak fort that has been overtaken by hostile mages. If you clear out the mages, the Stormcloaks will return to the fort.
- Mistwatch — A fort held by the Mistwatch Bandits as a base for kidnapping operations.
Towers
- Refugees' Rest — A tower guarded by animals in the far north-east of Skyrim close to the Morrowind border.
Daedric Shrines
- Sacellum of Boethiah — The shrine dedicated to the Daedric Prince Boethiah, located in mountains straight east of Windhelm.
Dragon Lairs
- Bonestrewn Crest - South of Windhelm, slightly southeast of Cronvangr Cave.
Dwemer Ruins
- Mzulft — A large Dwemer Ruin visited during the quest Revealing the Unseen.
- Kagrenzel — A Dwemer Ruin located north of Riften and south-east of Mzulft.
Mines
- Gloombound Mine — A mine southeast of Windhelm containing ebony and iron ores.
- Darkwater Crossing — A small mining camp.
- Goldenrock Mine — A small Corundum mine.
- Steamscorch Mine - A small malachite mine.
Nordic Ruins / Tombs
- Ansilvund - Located north-west of Tolvald's Cave.

- Mixwater Mill - A small settlement consisting of two houses and a water mill.
Shacks
- Traitor's Post - A shack found east of Hollyfrost Farm, inhabitaed by bandits.
- Riverside Shack - A small shack southwest of Windhelm and east of Gallows Rock.
- Witchmist Grove - A house inhabited by a witch located north of Bonestrewn Crest and due south of Windhelm.
Clearings
- Mara's Eye Pond - A small lake located straight east of Gallows Rock.
Guardian Stones
- The Atronach Stone - Located between Windhelm and Riften.
