The Ebony Dagger is a one-handed weapon in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Locations[]
Unenchanted ebony daggers will begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 36, and enchanted daggers may be found at level 37. These locations include:
- Blacksmiths, and general goods merchants.
- Wielded by various characters and enemies.
- Found as random loot in chests, or as world items throughout Skyrim.
- If Cicero is your follower then you can take his ebony dagger at any level.
Fixed locations[]
- Dark Brotherhood Initiates wield them.
- Cicero wields one during "The Cure for Madness."
- Neloth wields one, but it must be pickpocketed from him.
- Esbern wields one which can be pickpocketed from him.

Smithing[]
An ebony dagger requires a Smithing level of 80 and the Ebony Smithing perk to create. It is made at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 1 x ebony ingot
- 1 x leather strips
It can be upgraded with an ebony ingot at a grindstone and also benefits from the Ebony Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.
