Eldenroot is a city in the province of Valenwood. It is one of several possible locations that the Eternal Champion may discover in The Elder Scrolls: Arena.

Geography

Eldenroot is connected to five settlements. To the south-southwest is Archen Cormount, to the west is Meadow Run, to the north is Moonmont, to the east is Lynpar March, and to the southeast is Wasten Brukbrook.

Selene's Web

The first part to the fourth main quest of Arena. Following the successful reclamation of the second piece of the Staff of Chaos, and the Eternal Champion's triumph over Shalidor's Labyrinthian, Ria has divined the location to the third piece of the Staff of Chaos, the birthplace of the sacred First Tree: the Elden Grove. The Champion must do a favor for Queen Ulandra of Eldenroot, Valenwood, and steal the Heart to Selene, a high priestess to the "Spider God," and thus exchange information as to the whereabouts of the Elden Grove.

Elden Grove

After the Eternal Champion had retrieved the second piece of the Staff of Chaos in the Labyrinthian, Ria Silmane will contact the Champion and point them to the city of Eldenroot & the Eldenroot Palace. Queen Ulandra offered a proposition to the champion where if they retrieved the Heart of Selene from Selene's Web, she would point the way to the piece. After retrieving the artifact from Selene's Web, Ulandra points the way to the Elden Grove in Western Valenwood. The champion later found the third piece and continued their journey to find the rest of the staff.

Trivia

• In an earlier stage of development, Arena was going to be a tournament-based game where each city had their own gladiatorial team. Eldenroot's team was known as the Cavaliers.
