"I want to be an adventurer, like you. My father says I can't. He says he needs me to stay here and work the farm and even if he did let me be an adventurer we couldn't afford to buy armor."
Erik[src]

Erik the Slayer is a quest available in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in which the Dragonborn must convince Mralki, the father of Erik, that his son should be allowed to be an adventurer.

Objectives[]

  1. Talk to Mralki about Erik
  2. Return to Erik

Walkthrough[]

In the village of Rorikstead, should the nature of his request be inquired, Erik, who works at the Frostfruit Inn, will say that he wants to become an adventurer. Furthermore, Erik adds that his father, Mralki, is not willing to allow it, and would like the Dragonborn to persuade Mralki change his mind.

As Mralki is the town's innkeeper, he is usually found serving as a bartender behind the counter at the far end of the inn. Conversation with Mralki reveals that he cannot afford to buy his son armor. An offering of gold to pay for armor to outfit Erik, or some stern words, is enough to change his mind.

Once Erik is informed of Mralki's new disposition by the Dragonborn, he will say that perhaps one day, their stories of adventure can be swapped over a mug of ale. After this, Erik is titled "Erik the Slayer," and can be found propositioning visitors of the inn. After this, he becomes available for hire as a follower for 500 Gold.
