For other uses, see Side Quests.

Side Quests are quests unrelated to the main quest in The Elder Scrolls: Arena. They are randomly generated and are not related to the storyline. Thus, are not required to finish the main storyline. They can be started by talking to characters and asking about rumors.

Artifact quests[]

Artifact quests are the necessary steps to acquire one of the sixteen unique artifacts found throughout Tamriel. Unlike other side quests, these are initially started by asking around for "general rumors" as opposed to "work." Certain characters will mention hearing about someone offering the location to an artifact in exchange for gold and pointing the Eternal Champion to a nearby inn. Speaking to the bartender will lead to the said person approaching the Champion and sending them on a quest to find a map piece in a chest in a randomly generated 4-level dungeon. After finding the map piece, the Champion will have the actual location of the artifact inscribed on their world map, another 4-level dungeon. After clearing it out, the artifact will be located in a chest on the last floor. Normally, if the Champion possesses one such artifact, they cannot possess another nor complete any more Artifact Quests without using up the items charges, dropping the item, or through exploits.

Item quests[]

Item quests involve the Champion acquiring an item for another character and returning it to them within a specified time frame. These can be as simple as going to the local Mages Guild or temple, asking for the item, and returning to the quest giver—or as difficult as transversing a nearby dungeon, fighting through creatures, and having to search for the item in question.

Escort quests[]

Escort quests involve escorting a character to a location. Again, these can be as simple as walking from one side of the town to the other, or traveling to an entirely different city within the province.

Rescue quests[]

Rescue quests are given by royalty who will ask the Champion to rescue someone, typically a family member, from a nearby dungeon. The Champion will find said captive guarded by a creature, which will announce its presence when nearby. Selecting the character will "add" them to the Champions inventory, and they can now leave the dungeon and return to the quest giver for their reward.

Fugitive quests[]

Fugitive quests involve capturing an outlaw who has fled the King or Queen's justice, retreating to a dungeon of the same name. The fugitive will appear as a human enemy and attack the Champion. When they are defeated, they will appear in their inventory, much like an escort quest or rescue quest. The criminal typically shares their dungeon with a random monster (ranging from a minotaur to lich, regardless of level).
