Walkthrough[]
At the north end of Abamath, you will run into a woman named Caralith. She will tell you that the Worm Cult have set up camp throughout Abamath and plan to sacrifice people there. She was rescued by a woman named Arithiel, and will now ask you to go in and save Arithiel.
You will find Arithiel on an island in the river, directly north of the map marker for Abamath. Free her, then speak with her; she will ask you to help her get into the ruins and stop whatever the Worm Cult are planning. To gain entry, you will need to collect four Welkynd Stones hidden throughout their camps. Three of the stones are along the south banks of the river; the last one is further south, just east of the map marker. Once you have all four of them, head to the center of the ruins and place two of the stones on the sconces next to where Arithiel is standing. Talk to Arithiel hereafter and she will tell you to use the remaining two welkynd stones inside the ruins to gain entrance to the inner sanctum.
Head inside. In the circular room to the east, you will find an Ayleid Sarcofagus which will give you the quest The Soul Trap; that quest takes place in the same areas as this one, so it is efficient to do both simultaneously. Either way, fight your way through the ruins and place the welkynd stones on the sconces in the square rooms to the north and south Each time you place one, you will hear the voice of the Exile of Mauloch taunt you. Once they are in place, try to head through the now-unsealed door in the west of the central room; you will be blown back by some sort of force-field. Talk to Arithiel about this and she will tell you to look for a power source for this force-field; you will find it on the pedestal behind you. Examine the Amicus Geode here and the voice of Boethiah will speak through it. She will tell you that in order to dispel the barrier, you need to destroy the Amicus Geode by feeding it the soul of Arithiel; she was once a member of the Worm Cult and thus deserves to die.
Speak with Arithiel about the matter. She will accept her death as atonement for the sins of her past; you can choose to kill her or to use the soul of a Worm Cultist instead. If you kill her, [?]. If you opt to kill a cultist instead, speak with Arithiel afterward and she will promise to summon a flame atronach to help in your battle inside the sanctum. Head through the doors now and through the passage ahead and slay the worm priests performing the ritual. This will cause their leader Cassia Varo to appear, along with her per Ogrim Igozai. Slay both of them, then head on out of the ruins and speak with Arithiel to finish the quest; she will be by the Abamath Wayshrine.
