Forebears' Holdout is a location in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard.

Location[]

Forebears' Holdout is located southeast of Dragon Bridge. It is a large cave containing a river and a central small fort.

During the quest "Prophet," the Dragonborn has to defeat Malkus, if sided with the Dawnguard, or Vanik, if sided with the vampires, and free Dexion Evicus.

Quests[]

Prophet[]

After visiting the attack scene south of Dragon Bridge, the Dragonborn heads to Forebears' Holdout to either rescue the moth priest Dexion Evicus from vampires (Dawnguard), or enthrall the moth priest (Volkihar).

Trivia[]

  • Despite its name, there is no evidence indicated that it actually has anything to do with the Forebears.

Bugs[]

This section contains bugs related to Forebears' Holdout. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  /  PS5  ,  XS  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  • Dexion may spawn outside of the magical barrier while it is still up and will be fighting Malkus, although he will behave normally when spoken to. The Weystone Focus may still be looted from Malkus' corpse. However, activating it will trigger a bug whereupon Dexion will become hostile toward the Dragonborn.
    • This bug can be avoided by not retrieving the Weystone Focus, as Dexion continues to speak and behave as if he had been rescued, and join the Dragonborn's faction.
