Galen and Y'ffelon is a zone in The Elder Scrolls Online: Firesong comprising the islands of Galen, the second largest island in the Systres Archipelago, and Y'ffelon, the volcano also known as Mount Firesong. Outside the city of Vastyr, the island of Galen is largely wilderness inhabited by druids and the native wildlife. The eastern coast of the island is highly volcanic due to its proximity to Y'ffelon.[1] Like the entire archipelago, expansive lava vents run underneath the entire landmass.[2][3]

Background[]

"Enclaves of Stonelore and Eldertide druids occupy the vast wilderness of Galen, while House Mornard controls the city of Vastyr. If High Isle is the heart of business and politics, Galen is the archipelago's soul."

The islands were the seat of power of Druid King Kasorayn before the dissolution of the Druids of Galen and are now inhabited mostly by the Eldertide, Stonelore and Firesong Circles, as well as the Bretons of House Mornard situated in the city of Vastyr and the Westport shipyard.[4][5]

As a result of failing to address the Knahaten Flu in 2E 562 and later backing King Ranser in his war to take the throne of High Rock, House Mornard had their titles and lands stripped from them by High King Emeric, reducing their influence to only Galen, when they had previously ruled over the entire archipelago.[6] In 2E 582, the Ascendant Order, allied with the Firesong Circle, sought to bring about the prophecy of the Dream of Kasorayn, wherein a new Druid King would rise and bring about either a blessing or a scourge upon the lands.[1][7]

Quests[]

Main article: Quests (Online)

Galen and Y'ffelon features a series of zone story quests and unrelated side quests. The zone story quests tie into the Legacy of the Bretons overarching storyline and carries on from High Isle and Amenos, but it is not necessary to complete the story quests for zones prior to those in Galen and Y'ffelon. Side quests are non-sequential and can be completed in any order, except where one carries on from another, and repeatable quests can be completed multiple times: weekly for arenas and trials and daily for all others. Note that the Epilogue for the Legacy of the Bretons requires the zone quests of both High Isle and Amenos and Galen and Y'ffelon to have been completed before it can be started.
