Gheateus, also spelled Gheatus,[1] are a variant of Faerie, or Fey, considered to be godlike beings. According to legend, Gheateus appears as a man, or a group of men, who are formed by the earth, and they are said to be surrounded by a host of minor Sylphim. Gheateus are known to have inhabited Summerset Isles, but are now extinct as they were defeated by the Aldmer in times long past. One of the earliest documented conflicts between Gheateus and Aldmer was during the Aldmeri colonization of Auridon, led by High Lord Torinaan.[2]
They are portrayed regularly in sculpture and tapestry in the private collections of the Summerset Isles.[3][4]
