"Glarthir is crazy. Maybe harmless crazy, maybe not. Don't get involved with him. If he asks you to do anything... strange... you come see me first, got it? "
Dion

Glarthir is an insane Wood Elf, likely having schizophrenia and a severe case of paranoia living in Skingrad. As long as he isn't doing any harm the other residents seems to ignore him.

Interactions

When the Hero talks to him he will explain he needs to tell them about something but not now, meet me behind the Great Chapel of Julianos at midnight. This will initiate the quest Paranoia.

Quotes

  • "I'll show them. I'll make them pay."
  • "They think I don't know. They think I don't see."
  • "My enemies think I'm weak. That I'll never act."
  • "Just have to take matters into my own hands. The only way now."
  • "Could be [short pause] The Blades . They've always feared me."
  • "Maybe [short pause] the Mythic Dawn , or the Alyeid Revivalists?"
  • "They gave me no choice. I'm not a violent person, but I can only be pushed so far. [almost sings this entire passage]"
  • "It must be [short pause] The Maruhkati Selectives. All the evidence points to them."

Quest

Trivia

  • If you Resurrect Glarthir with the Staff of Worms, any guards in the area will fight and attempt to kill him.
  • If you Resurrect him with the console "Resurrect" he will instanlty be hostile to you and attempt to kill you with only his fists. Any civilians nearby will help you fight him.
  • Should you actually aid him in killing someone, he will from there on out protect you. If the guards attack you, he will attack them. Granted, he will die quickly. But it's the thought that counts, right?.
  • Once Glarthir sees you and starts calling you, he will follow you everywhere until he talks to you. He only walks after you but will even follow you inside an Oblivion Gate.

Bugs

  • The interesting note on him is that should you break into his house and steal the Iron Battleaxe, he will walk up to where it was and just stand there for a few seconds. Then turn around and leave, even if you left another weapon in its place. He will still attempt to kill the people who "conspired" against him, but with no weapon he does nothing more than stand in one spot with his fists up. I believe he was not scripted at this point to do anything other than attack with the Iron Battleaxe, because after he's dead, the guards take note on how he went crazy and tried to kill people and raise a new comment on his name; "Did you hear? He went crazy and started attacking people with an axe! Luckily the guards stopped him before he killed anyone." (They will say this, even if he does manage to kill someone)
