Glass weapons are a type of weapon available in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Found as randomized loot, bought, or crafted, they are the fifth most effective classification of weapon available in the game, excluding unique weapons.
Despite their name, "glass" weapons are not made of actual glass, but of Refined Malachite, a strong, glass-like green stone which can be sharpened to a fine edge, and strengthened further with Moonstone. Glass weapons have a design similar to Elven Weapons, highly ornate with avian motifs.
- Blacksmiths, and general goods merchants.
- Wielded by various characters or enemies.
- Found as random loot in chests, or as a world item throughout Skyrim.
Glass weapons can be smithed at a forge with the Glass Smithing perk which is available with a Smithing skill of at least 70. The weapons require refined moonstone and refined malachite to make. Moonstone ore can be mined early, as can the malachite ore, but may not appear in vendors' inventories before level 15.
