Heal Undead is an Adept-level spell in The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard.

Usefulness[edit | edit source]

Heal Undead is very useful for necromancers, as it allows for reanimated zombies, conjured Bonemen, conjured Mistmen, and conjured Wrathmen to survive longer in battle. It will synergize well with the Necromage perk, as it increases the magnitude of Heal Undead by 25%. Necromage will also stack with the perk Regeneration and the ability Sailor's Repose, which will yield into an 85% bonus magnitude. This adds up to approximately 140 plus health for any undead targeted.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

This section contains bugs related to Heal Undead. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:

  1. Please reload an old save to confirm if the bug is still happening.
  2. If the bug is still occurring, please post the bug report with the appropriate system template  360  /  XB1  ,  PS3  /  PS4  ,  PC  /  MAC  ,  NX  , depending on which platform(s) the bug has been encountered on.
  3. Be descriptive when listing the bug and fixes, but avoid having conversations in the description and/or using first-person anecdotes: such discussions belong on the appropriate forum board.
  • The spell can be obtained for Dawnguard members when first visiting the castle if they constantly jump and use the activate button between the balcony bars, allowing them to talk to Ronthil, who is on the balcony to the left (constantly exit the conversation whenever Harkon asks for the Dragonborn's name to have time to do this).confirmation needed
    • As with other exploits, this appears to have been patched in Special Edition, so most of the time it will not work. If this is attempted, Ronthil will simply tell the Dragonborn that they need to speak with Harkon without opening a dialogue menu.confirmation needed
      •  XB1   When first speaking to Harkon, one can cancel out the speech with him and speak to the other members of Castle Volkihar.
    • Another Option is to jump from the table below Ronthil and talk to him while Harkon is talking to Serana.confirmation needed
    • Another method that can be used if one joins the Dawnguard is the "Wooden Plate" glitch. Upon entering the castle, the Vampires will not attack, even though the Dragonborn is a member of the Dawnguard.confirmation needed
