The Hide Helmet is a piece of light armor and part of the hide armor set.
Locations[]
Enchanted and unenchanted variants begin to appear throughout Skyrim at level 1. These locations include:
- Blacksmiths and general goods merchants.
- Found as random loot in chests or as a world item.
- Worn by bandits.
Smithing[]
A hide helmet requires no prerequisite Smithing level or perks to forge. It can be crafted at a blacksmith's forge with the following components:
- 2 × Leather.
- 1 × Leather Strips.
It can be upgraded with leather at a workbench; however, it does not benefit from any Smithing perks.
This means the armor cannot be improved past flawless quality without boosting the Smithing skill over 100. This can be achieved by using enchanted items and/or blacksmithing potions to fortify Smithing.
Bugs[]
This section contains bugs related to Hide Helmet. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:
|
- 360 Male characters wearing this helmet will have their arms press up against their sides and any two-handed weapon to clip into their backs after entering an area. Removing then re-equipping the helmet fixes this, but only until the wearer goes through a loading screen, when it will occur again.
