- Not to be confused with Hoag Merkiller.
Hoag Stormcloak,[1] also known as the Great Bear of Eastmarch,[2] was the father of Ulfric Stormcloak,[3][4] and the leader of the Stormcloak Clan until his death following the Markarth Incident.[1] Although little is known about him, he is known to have had a more tolerant approach to the non-Nordic population of Windhelm than his son,[5] who has banned the Argonian population from living within the city walls.[6] He died after the Markarth Incident in 4E 176, while Ulfric was imprisoned.[2]
