Hoag Merkiller was a Nordic High King of Skyrim in the First Era. He is considered to be one of the great war chiefs of his time and instrumental in the formation of the First Empire of the Nords.[1]

He was also know to be a powerful Tongue, as was shown in his battles against Morrowind.

In his youth, he attended the the coronation of the Emperor Gorieus on the 23rd of Sun's Dawn in 1E 461, along with his father and High King, Kjoric the White. Kjoric later rebelled against the Emperor, but was killed at the Battle of Sungard in 1E 477 or 478. After this, the Moot named Hoag as the new High King.[2]

In 1E 480 Hoag was killed at the Battle of Glenumbria Moors[3] and was succeeded by Wulfharth.[2]
