Not to be confused with Hoag Merkiller.

Hoag, also known as the Great Bear of Eastmarch,[1] was the father of Ulfric Stormcloak.[2][3] Although little is known about him, he is known to have had a more tolerant approach to the non-Nordic population of Windhelm than his son,[4] who has banned the Argonian population from living within the city walls.[5] He died during the Markarth Incident in 4E 176, while Ulfric was imprisoned.[6]
