Hoarfrost is a unique ancient Nordic pickaxe found in The Elder Scrolls V: Dragonborn.

It can be pickpocketed off Ralis Sedarys (southeast of Raven Rock), looted from him after he is killed, or taken from his inventory if he is made a follower.

"Targets take 15 points of frost damage to Health and Stamina, and have a small chance of being frozen solid."

  • Note: This weapon cannot be disenchanted.

  • Hoarfrost is named after hoar frost, a type of ice crystal.
  • Hoarfrost can be used to mine Stahlrim.

    • Yes, it can be used to mine anything. Much like every other pickaxe.
    • Normal pickaxes can’t mine Stahlrim, so this is inaccurate.
