Hod and Gerdur's House is a house in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Background[edit | edit source]

Hod and Gerdur's House is hard to miss due to its size, being the biggest house in Riverwood. The house also has a Cooking Pot. The Dragonborn can turn right at the inn if coming in from the blacksmith Alvor. The house is at the end of the street after turning right.

Temporary home[edit | edit source]

This home can be used by the Dragonborn as a temporary dwelling immediately after the opening quest "Unbound" provided that Ralof was followed during the quest. Upon speaking to Ralof's sister, Gerdur, she will provide a key to the house and free use of the bed inside. She will also provide some free items as gifts. Due to developing a friendly disposition with Gerdur, via Ralof's relation to her, items of low value in the house can be taken free and do not count as stealing.

All containers in the house reset and thus cannot be used for safe storage.

Notable items[edit | edit source]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Either this house or Alvor's can be used by the Dragonborn, depending on who they saved during the prologue quest Unbound. Also the gifts are either given by Gerdur or Alvor, but not both.
