The House Ra'athim, also known as the R'Aathim, was a prominent Dunmer noble family that was centered in, and ruled from, the city of Ebonheart in Morrowind. The Ra'athim were known to hold many mines among their fiefdoms,[1] and were even said to have "mining in their blood."[2] House Ra'athim was originally part of the House Mora, but after House Mora faded away they were adopted into the Great House Hlaalu.[UL 1] The house is believed to actually have some human ancestry in it.[3]

The Ra'athim clan at one point, was known to be very unstable, having fighting breaking out amongst its members frequently. The controversy within the House was so bad that many of its members were relieved after the Nordic occupation of Ebonheart as it ended the houses feuds.[4]

One of the most notable members of the Ra'athim family was Katariah Ra'athim, who was the wife of the mad emperor Pelagius III and became the ruling regent during the years of Pelagius' reign.[5] Other famous Dunmer, such as Barenziah and Athyn Llethan were also known to be part of the clan.[UL 1] Speculation has it that "the Nightingale," which was either Jagar Tharn or more likely Drayven Indoril, was part of the Ra'athim clan.[3]

The Ra'athim are also believed to have some connection to the Morag Tong.[6]
